FRAUD & FINANCIAL CRIME MALAYSIA 2026

A resilient anti-scam framework demands real-time intelligence and data sharing among law enforcement authorities, financial institutions, telecommunication providers, and digital platforms. Incorporating automation, AI, and advanced data analytics facilitates earlier detection and mitigation of high-risk transactions. Operational success relies equally upon expedited reporting, asset tracing, and fund-freezing protocols, anchored by definitive fund-recovery mechanisms and equitable shared responsibility models.

NFCC Director-General Dato’ Sri Shamshun Baharin bin Mohd Jamil delivered a keynote address entitled *"Fraud as the Front End of Laundering Risk,"* while Mr. Idzwan Adli bin Ismail featured as a panellist on Panel 1, discussing *"When Value Moves in Minutes: The First-Hour Gap in Scam and Mule Activity"* at the Fraud & Financial Crime Malaysia Conference organised by Regulation Asia.

The NFCC delegation also included Mr. Mohd Faizal bin Rashid, Mr. Ahmad Zamri bin Mustakim, Mr. Muhammad Ahyad bin Abd. Manan, Mr. Mohd Asriq bin Lamit, and Ms. Nur Shareena binti Rosli, who engaged with regulatory counterparts, enforcement agencies, and industry leaders from the banking, payment, and financial technology sectors.
